Our students all have the capacity to learn and grow. Many of our students struggle to access content and community. Most also done have the skills or awareness to advocate for themselves.
We as educators need to have the mindset, the awareness of tools, and access to the tools, and skills to utilize them before we can effectively advocate for student needs.
Surrey Schools provides specialized assistance in areas such as behavioural and emotional support for students with special needs, including:
adapted physical activities program for students with disabilities
special education helping teachers
speech language pathologists
gifted program teachers
hospital/homebound programs, and
Welcome Centre: Support for English Language
In addition to a set of professionals that can help us support our students, there are many technology solutions that may be available full time for students.
